Additionally, we’re looking for motivated students interested in completing their Master's or Bachelor's thesis with us.

Energy Technology: Customer and Software Support (100% Remote)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and service-oriented individual to join our team as a Customer Success Manager (m/f/d) in Energy Technology. If you have knowledge in energy technology (especially heat supply), enjoy customer care and acquisition, are communicative, and thrive in a dynamic environment, then you’re the right fit for us!

Key Points:

  • Maximum flexibility through 100% remote work
  • Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Technology, or Industrial Engineering – or substantial professional experience in one of these fields
  • Start date: as soon as possible

Your Responsibilities

  • Presentation and demonstration of our software nPro to prospective clients
  • Support and assistance for customers with any software-related questions
  • Forwarding of customer feedback to our development team for continuous software improvement
  • Participation in the development and implementation of strategies for customer acquisition and retention

Your Profile

  • Solid knowledge of energy technology, especially in heat supply (a relevant degree is an advantage, but not essential)
  • Affinity for software tools and a willingness to quickly adapt to new applications
  • High self-motivation and responsibility to work successfully in a 100% remote position
  • Excellent German and good English skills in both spoken and written form are essential
  • Enjoy helping others understand technical content, along with strong communication skills (via email, phone) and a friendly, persuasive demeanor
  • Organizational skills, reliability, and an independent working style
  • Initial experience in a similar position is an advantage
  • Ideally, you already have experience with our nPro software; during onboarding, you’ll receive comprehensive training and will develop into an expert in our software
  • Preferably experience in the planning and implementation of projects in districts, heating networks, heat pumps, or comparable systems

What We Offer You

  • 100% remote work for optimal work-life balance – participation in on-site events, such as trade shows or internal workshops in the Germany/North Rhine-Westphalia area, is occasionally required.
  • Flexible working hours with a time tracking account and options for flexible or part-time schedules
  • Attractive, performance-based compensation
  • A high degree of autonomy, participation, and decision-making authority
  • Individual training opportunities and clear development perspectives
  • Flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths
  • A diverse and responsible role
  • A dynamic and collegial working environment that values teamwork
  • Last but not least: a chance to contribute to something meaningful – your efforts towards a greener and sustainable world

About Us

Since our founding in 2022 as a spin-off of RWTH Aachen, we have committed to a clear mission: to set new global standards in building and district planning with our specialized software, advancing the energy transition – and we’ve already been featured in the New York Times! Our solution helps companies design energy systems for a sustainable future – all around the world.

We welcome applicants of all genders, nationalities, religions, backgrounds, and ages. We particularly encourage women to apply, as we highly value empathy and responsibility in this role.

Your Application:

Interested? We look forward to receiving your application by email (including resume, transcripts, etc.), stating your earliest possible start date and salary expectations. We’ll get back to you promptly and are available for any questions.

We look forward to your application at m.wirtz@npro.energy!

Thesis (Bachelor/Master):
Development of simplified simulation methods for cold local heating networks - 100% remote possible.

Are you passionate about energy technology and would like to work with us to advance the energy transition? Are you studying mechanical engineering or a related subject and would like to expand your experience in the field of simulation? Then we have an interesting topic for your thesis!
nPro Energy is a young, innovative company and was founded in 2022 as a spin-off of RWTH Aachen University. We offer a world-leading, specialized planning software for building and neighborhood planning, which is successfully used by neighborhood and building planners worldwide.
You will directly contribute to the further development of our planning software by bringing scientific methods into practice. The focus of your work will be low-temperature heat networks, especially cold local heat networks, which will be mapped in more detail in the nPro software in the future.

The most important in brief:

  • Location: Flexible and up to 100% remote (our startup works decentralized).
  • Flexible working hours: There are no fixed attendance times and we take your study-related commitments (e.g. exam period) into consideration.
  • Close, professional supervision:: The founder of the startup (Marco Wirtz) will supervise you personally. He has many years of experience in supervising theses during his work as a research assistant at the Chair of Building and Air Conditioning Technology at RWTH Aachen University. If required, we will also support you in finding an internal supervisor at your college/university (if necessary).
  • Fast processing: A narrowly defined topic allows you to efficiently complete the work within a pre-agreed time horizon.
  • Pleasant working atmosphere: People come first with us and we determine the focus of your work according to your interests and strengths. We do not regard the preparation of your thesis as a mere examination, but as a team project in which we support you in order to achieve the best result for the work and for you personally.
If you are interested in writing your thesis at nPro Energy, just contact Marco Wirtz: m.wirtz@npro.energy

Your task

The goal of the thesis is the implementation of a simulation approach for cold local heating networks and its integration into the nPro planning software. Depending on the scope of your thesis, the following contents can be covered:

  • Introductory literature research on the topic of "thermo-hydraulic heat network simulation".
  • Pre-conception of the simulation process based on a simplified prototype
  • Implementation of the actual simulation logic for network calculation
  • Support for the development of an online input mask for data input
  • Application of the simulation logic to exemplary quarters in Germany
  • Embedding the simulation into the nPro calculation tool
  • Development of evaluation routines for result processing

Your profile

  • Good to very good performance in your studies of engineering, preferably energy technology/process engineering or similar
  • Good knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics helpful
  • Initial programming experience required - you'll be doing a lot of coding (in Python and occasional Javascript) in your job! 😊
  • Reliable and independent way of working required

Contact

If you are interested in writing the thesis, we would be happy to hear from you. Please send us a email with your resume (CV), a current transcript of grades, and other relevant information. We will get in touch with you as soon as possible.
